Synopsis

The World of Menophia is on the verge of chaos. Demons outnumber humans by 3 to 1. Elvin races are becoming weak, and cannot assist in mankind's struggle. Their only hope is to find the Sword of Souls, an ancient mystical weapon created by the father of Gods himself, and once wielded by the sun god. With the sword and four other ancient artifacts, the humans might be able to overcome the demonic threat. But the sword hasn't been seen in thousands of years, and the Legendary Demons—Gods who have turned on the humans—have possession of all four artifacts. Even if the sword was found, who could wield it?

Youthful demon hunter, Akio Mansai is on the lamb. Years ago, he was accused of a horrible crime he doesn't remember committing. When he meets a young farmer named Aero, and in turn, is introduced to the Lord of Fujita himself; Lord Cyrus, things begin to look up. Soon, however, war is declared on the humans of Fujita. The notorious Fire God, Akari, wishes to exterminate human life in Menophia.

Characters


	AKIO MANSAI (AKA) "RAGE" Age: 18+ (After Prologue) Classification: Half Demon, Half Human Employment: Noreana Castle’s Royal Guard Two years after he meets Aero and Cyrus and has taken on the alias of "Rage", Akio is working as the royal guard at the Noreana Castle, and has already become well-known through Fujita as an excellent demon slayer. Little do they know, Akio himself is really the reincarnation of Sol, the legendary sun god who once wielded the Sword of Souls. Akari, the God of Fire, cast a possession spell on Akio when he was 13, leaving Akio with the cross-shaped scar on his cheek.
	AERO MII Age: 17 (After Prologue) Classification: Human Employment: Freelance Farmer in Noreana City Aero and Rage are best friends. Although they have only known each other for two years, they are inseparable. Aero is often quite bossy toward Rage, but all is forgiven. Aero is completely oblivious to the fact that Rage is really Akio Mansai, the demon who killed his family years earlier.

	LORD CYRUS OF FUJITA Age: 54 (After Prologue) Classification: Elf Employment: Ruler of the Kingdom of Fujita Lord Cyrus is the third Elvin Lord of Fujita. He is revered worldwide for his kindness, wisdom, and cleverness. In his free time, he practices Alchemy. He is privy to the fact that Akio Mansai is innocent, and is determined to prove this to all of Menophia, to clear Akio's name. Cyrus and Rage (a.k.a. Akio,) have a bizarre relationship that almost resembles a reluctantly obedient dog and its patient master. No one can get into Rage's head like Cyrus can.

	RANE UROSAKI Age: 46 (After Prologue) Classification: Elf Employment: Working for Lord Cyrus, searching for Akio Mansai and proof of his innocence Ever since his fiancés death a few years before, Rane has been obsessed with tracking down her killer. But over time, Rane has become more and more certain that, despite the fact that it was Akio's body that killed his fiancé, it was not REALLY Akio Mansai. Lord Cyrus has founded Rane's expedition. Unbeknownst to Rane, Cyrus has already found Akio Mansai, but cannot contact Rane. Perhaps Aero and Rage will run into him at some point.

	INICCI (Pronounced: In-ee-see) Age: -- Classification: Pixie Employment: None Inicci is a pixie created by Cyrus to aid Rage as a healer in battle, but over time, Rage and this small and child-like creature become very close. Inicci feels everything that Rage feels, and therefore understands Rage better than most.

	KAI LANACE Age: 61 Classification: Elf Employment: Traveller, original heir to the Fujitan throne Kai is Cyrus's older brother. The two of them harbor many ill feelings toward one another, due to the fact that Kai fled Fujita when he was supposed to take the throne, leaving Cyrus, who was not prepared to rule a kingdom, to take the throne. Kai returns to warn Cyrus about the mobilization of the demon army in Northern Fujita.

	AKARI/EMBERLAID OF FIRE Age: Almost 400 years old in current body Classification: The Legendary Demon/God of Fire Employment: None, occupies himself by waging war Known in Legend as Emberlaid, Akari is the malicious, human-hating demon that cast a possession spell on the young Akio Mansai. In legend, Emberlaid sought to steal Sol's power and take over the world of Menophia. It seems that he is still attempting to do just this, and has made his first move now that Sol is in the vulnerable half-human body of Akio Mansai.

	KIMEKO/ANDELUGE OF WATER Age: Over 700 years old in current body Classification: The Legendary Demon/God of Water Employment: None Known in Legend as Andeluge, Kimeko is possibly the biggest threat to the survival of mankind in Menophia. She has Akari lured in, and is using his army and power in her favor, fooling him into thinking that he is in control, when in fact, she is behind the scenes causing more damage. Andeluge does not only wish to take over the world of Menophia, but she wishes to conquer the divine realm as well. And she plans to use Akari's and Sol's power to do so.
