What are some great tips you can share about drawing? If you're scanning your inked pages in, scan them as b&w bitmaps. 2. When did you first start to draw manga? Summer before my sophomore HS year...so...July 2005? 3. Name the greatest influence on your manga. Every artist I've had the pleasure to read. 4. Has DREAM been helpful to you in any way? Yeah, definitely. 5. What was the first manga you ever bought for yourself? Wolf's Rain. 6. Name the pens you use for drawing manga and how you use them. If you ink digitally, name the sizes and types of brushes you use and how you use them. Sakura Micron pens, usually sizes 0.5 and 1.0 for general lines and 3.0 for thicker/bigger areas. 7. How long does it take you to do one page from planning to toning and lettering? If I do it all in a row around 3 hours. 8. What is the average length of your mangas? Long, haha. So far my books have ranged from 100-180 pages. 9. After this manga, what type of manga would you like to draw next? Something street! Maybe with mechs :) 10. What inspired you to draw manga? Knowing I didn't fail at drawing :P and the InuYasha video game. 11. When did you first start to draw manga? Is this a repeat question? 12. Who do you say gave you the most support while drawing manga? My mom, and my HS advisor. 13. Do you want to draw manga as a living? If I can, yeah! 14. Do you prefer traditional or computerized when it comes to coloring? Computerized, much easier to UNDO. 15. Have you ever tried to promote your manga in any way? Name some please. I've made a facebook group for my mangas, and gave fliers out at conventions. 16. Was there ever a period of time where you completely stopped drawing manga for any reason? Only a few VERY short periods, usually after a super long manga marathon, or sleeping sickness. 17. Do you usually know the ending of your manga before you begin? Do you enjoy knowing/not knowing the ending? Most of the time I have a general idea, but as I work through the pages it builds and morphs in on itself. 18. Out of all your series, which one do you feel closest to? Please describe it in a few sentences. I feel the closest to my series Kurokenshin, not only because it was the first one I started, but also because I REALLY love the story, it even amazes me sometimes how deep it turned out to be. 19. Have you ever done a doujinshi? Which series was it based on? Nope never done one :/ 20. Which of your characters do you like the most? Tori from XYZ. |
