On the Bright Side By: DanaBoBana Released: May 2010 Synopsis Jacob is a very shy boy, whose life is completely turned around when a family suddenly moves in next door to him. The oldest daughter, Kaylee, happens to be his age... and also happens to be his old best friend from his childhood! Turns out that they were inseparable childhood friends, and it's been eight years since they have last seen each other. At first he's skeptical about this very naive and optimistic girl, but after a while, he begins to fall in love with her. Characters JACOB The main character of the story. He's very shy and labeled "the quiet one" in school and spends most of his time alone. He has a very pessimistic outlook on life, but that all changes when his old best friend Kaylee moves back into town. KAYLEE She's friendly, lovable, but a bit naïve. She loves to have fun and make people laugh and smile. She makes friends easily, but Jacob is her best friend in the world. And she wants to keep a promise that they made as children: to always be together no matter what. GAVIN Gavin is very intelligent, a hard-working student at the top of his class. He has a "know-it-all" attitude, but likes to joke around and uses a lot of sarcasm. He may seem to be rude or ignorant, but he really is a good person. MELANY A girl with a wealthy family and good looks, people think she has it all. Though she does enjoy the finer things in life, she is not at all spoiled. She only wants to be treated like everyone else. But ufortunately people take advantage of her because of her kindness. CHASE Chase loves to have fun and play pranks, and will do just about anything to get a reaction out of someone. He loves being the center of attention, and hates to be ignored. He's all about his looks and spends more time getting ready than any other girl.
